Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Thursday on a positive trend, testing 10,155 during the day, but later encountering sales. The benchmark index closed at 10,082.10, up 0.05%. While the Industrial Index increased by 0.53% the Banking Index diverged negatively, down 0.97%. The medium-term rising trend continues at the BIST, yet fluctuation will continue, too, with profit selling on rises and reaction purchases on retreats. As the 4Q24 balance sheet period gets going, we expect stock-based divergences to become evident. Yesterday's European Central Bank meeting was followed in global markets, and the bank reduced the interest rate from 3.00% to 2.75% with a 25 bps interest rate cut. Speaking after the meeting, President Lagarde said that problems in the economy persisted and that they aim to reach the 2% inflation target this year. Yesterday, European stock markets and U.S. stock markets closed the day with increases. Despite Trump's announcement that he would implement his tariff plans for Canada and Mexico, risk appetite is maintained this morning. The U.S. futures and German DAX futures are trending positively. Markets are closed in China for the Chinese New Year holiday, while open Asian stock markets reveal mixed pricing. Today, markets will follow the core PCE data, an inflation indicator closely followed by the Fed. International Rating Agency Fitch is expected to publish its assessment of Türkiye today, with no change foreseen in the market rating outlook. The VIOP30 Index completed the evening session down 0.02%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Friday with limited reaction purchases and to follow a fluctuating course thereafter. SUPPORT: 10,000 - 9,950 RESISTANCE: 10,150 - 10,250.
