Outlook:
The BIST 100 Index started Monday on a positive trend, yet went on to close at 9,574.83, down 0.28%, amid higher selling pressure towards the end. While the Industrial Index rose 0.28% the Banking Index fell 0.33%. Although news that an investigation would be launched against misleading news flows regarding sharp price movements at the BIST caused the bourse to start positively yesterday, the rise was temporary. Following recent developments, volatility remains high. We expect the fluctuating trend to continue in the short term. Global markets started the new week with weakened risk appetite. While European stock markets declined yesterday, U.S. counterparts also lost value led by technology stocks. Trump's announcement that the postponed tariffs on Mexico and Canada would be put into effect next month suppress risk appetite. German DAX futures, U.S. futures, and Asian stock markets are down this morning. The data agenda is calm today, we expect the markets to follow Trump's moves. The VIOP30 Index completed the evening session up 0.16%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Tuesday positively with reaction purchases and seek to rise if intraday selling pressure is encountered. SUPPORT: 9,500 - 9,400 RESISTANCE: 9,750 - 9,850.
