Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Tuesday on a positive trend, but followed a fluctuating course throughout the day, ending at 9.898.01, down 0.13%. The Industrial Index fell 1.22% and the Banking Index lost 0.45%. The BIST, which rose on Monday after inflation printed below expectations, saw profit taking yesterday. Since banking stocks were primarily affected by the interest rate cuts, they continued to diverge relatively positively compared to industrial sector names. On the global front, Trump's statement that Canada's retaliatory steps against tariffs would be responded to reduced risk appetite. European and U.S. stock markets closed Tuesday with declines. However, the U.S. Treasury Secretary's statement that Canadian and Mexican tariffs could be relaxed provided partial support to risk appetite. This morning, German DAX futures are slightly negative, while the U.S. futures and Asian stock markets are bullish. Services PMI data will be followed in Europe and the U.S. today. We expect the markets to closely follow developments regarding trade wars as well as emerging data. The VIOP30 Index closed the evening session up 0.64%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Wednesday positively, and to attempt a rise if intraday selling pressure is encountered. SUPPORT: 9,850 - 9,750 RESISTANCE: 9,950 - 10,000.
