Market Watch(Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Tuesday on a negative trend, then recovered towards 10,500 only to close at 10,438.33, up 0.15% amid increased selling pressure. ASELS made the strongest contribution to the index in terms of points. While the Industrial Index rose by 1.10% the Banking Index diverged negatively, down 2.21%. The weak outlook in global markets continued yesterday due to tariff concerns. The U.S. and European stock markets closed with declines. However, the 30-day ceasefire agreement struck between U.S. and Ukraine officials, and statements that the agreement would be communicated to Russia by the U.S. support risk appetite. The U.S. futures, German DAX futures, and Asian stock markets are generally priced positively this morning. Markets will follow the CPI figures out in the U.S. today. CPI is expected at 0.3% monthly and 2.9% annually in February. We expect the data to be effective on global risk appetite. The balance of payments data for January will be published locally today. The market expectation is that the current account balance will print a deficit of USD 3.25bn. We expect a current account deficit of USD 3.4bn. The VIOP30 Index completed the evening session up 0.56%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Wednesday with a positive trend and attempt to rise thereafter if profit-taking is met. SUPPORT: 10,400 - 10,250 RESISTANCE: 10,565 - 10,685.
