Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Monday on a negative trend, falling to 9,050 during the day, but closing at 9,407.17, up 0.29%. The Industrial Index fell by 0.51%, while the Banking Index rose by a limited 0.02%. While global risk appetite weakened due to Trump's new tariffs and concerns over growth, the BIST, which moves in parallel with global markets, showed a relatively positive divergence. We expect domestic news flow and global risk appetite to remain effective, also due to the calmness of the local macroeconomic data agenda. Although news that the U.S. would suspend tariffs for 90 days briefly supported risk appetite yesterday, sales dominated the markets again after that story was denied by the White House. EU Commission President Leyen announced readiness to negotiate tariffs with the U.S. and offered a mutual 0% customs duty. Yesterday, Asian stock markets lost up to 10%, European stock markets lost over 4%, while the U.S. stock markets were mixed. This morning, the U.S. futures and German DAX futures are buying over 1%, while Asian stock markets are rising, led by the Japanese Nikkei index, which rose 5%. We expect statements regarding tariffs and possible retaliation to be closely monitored and to guide risk appetite. The VIOP30 Index completed the evening session up 0.31%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Tuesday positively and then attempt to rise if sales are met. SUPPORT: 9,300 - 9,200 RESISTANCE: 9,500 - 9,600.
