Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Friday negatively, entered a recovery trend for the rest of the day and closed at 9,380.95, up 0.45%. The Industrial Index gained 0.19%, while the Banking Index diverged positively, up 1.34%. On a weekly basis, the BIST100 closed with a 0.01% flat trend, while the Industrial Index fell 0.19% and the Banking Index diverged negatively, down 3.11%. With tariff developments between the U.S. and China holding global attention last week, the BIST moved in correlation to global peers, also due to the calm local news flow and macroeconomic data agenda. Volatility abroad was high under the influence of news flows. The U.S. bourses, which fell to their lowest levels of the past year during the week, gained an average of 4%. European counterparts lost an average of 2%, and Asian stock markets an average of 3%. As we start the new week, the U.S. futures, German DAX futures, and Asian stock markets are positive this morning. Any statements on tariffs and possible retaliation will be closely monitored this week. Amid rising incentive expectations in China any statements on this issue will also be monitored. Local balance of payments data for February will be published today. The market expects a deficit of USD 4.3bn and we forecast a deficit of USD 4.5bn. The VIOP30 Index closed the Friday evening session up 0.30%. We expect the Benchmark Index to start Monday positively and follow a volatile course thereafter if weak reaction purchases are effective. SUPPORT: 9,200 - 9,000 RESISTANCE: 9,400 - 9,600.
