Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Friday on a negative trend, which it followed throughout the day to close at 9,019.57, down 1.65%. While the Industrial Index fell by 1.41%, the Banking Index diverged negatively, down 2.77%. The lack of short-term expectations in the country, the high return potential of alternative income instruments and the decreasing risk appetite in global markets are extending the BIST's weak trend. The BIST 100 Index lost 3.60% last week, the Industrial Index fell by 4.66% and the Banking Index fell by 2.90%. On the global side, a mixed trend was observed on Friday. After the appeals court in the U.S. suspended the removal of tariffs and Trump announced that China had violated the trade agreement between the two countries, European and U.S. stock markets closed the week with mixed trends. Amid rising tension between the U.S. and China regarding the trade agreement risk appetite has a negative outlook on Monday. This morning, a sell-off trend is dominant in the U.S. and German DAX futures and Asian stock markets, where China is closed. The VIOP-30 Index closed the Friday evening session down 0.22%. We expect the statements to be made regarding tariffs to continue shaping the course of the markets. Markets will also closely follow the messages to be given in the second round of talks between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations set to be held in Istanbul today. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Monday with a slightly negative trend and seek to balance out for the rest of the day. SUPPORT: 8,985 - 8,870 RESISTANCE: 9,150 - 9,250.
