Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Monday on a negative trend and observed fluctuation throughout the day to close at 9,008.87, down 0.12%. While the Banking Index continued its positive divergence, up 1.50%, the Industrial Index declined by 1.14%. The weak trend at the BIST continues in the absence of short-term positive expectations, and amid decreasing global risk appetite. On the global side, risk appetite followed a mixed trend on Monday. The U.S. stock markets, which started the day with sales after President Trump announced a doubling of the customs duty applied to steel imports, ended the day with a rise, while European stock markets, excluding the UK, closed with a decrease. U.S. futures have followed a negative trend this morning, while a limited positive trend has prevailed in German DAX futures and Asian stock markets. The VIOP30 Index completed the evening session up 0.22%. The inflation data for May is to be announced domestically today at 10:00. While the market expects CPI to rise by 2.1% monthly in May, our expectation is for a monthly rise of 2%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Tuesday with limited reaction purchases and to attempt to sustain the rise thereafter. SUPPORT: 8,985 - 8,870 RESISTANCE: 9,150 - 9,250.
