Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

Outlook:
The BIST 100 Index started Tuesday with a bullish trend and closed at 9,998.20, down 1.08%. The Industrial Index fell 1.37%, while the Banking Index rose 0.46%. Following last week's rapid rise fueled by expectations that the CBRT would begin interest rate cuts, profit-taking has been occurring over the past two days, largely driven by domestic developments. With a decision published in the Official Gazette, the withholding tax rate applied to investment funds and short-term deposits with maturities of up to six months has been raised from 15% to 17.5%, and to 15% from 12% on accounts with maturities of up to one year. While interest rate cut expectations limited the decline in the Banking Index, the withholding tax increase could increase interest in risky assets such as gold, FX, and the stock market. Trump's tariff announcements continue globally. The last day for tariffs to come into effect is postponed from July 9 to August 1, but Trump’s announcement that they will impose a 50% tariff on copper imports is suppressing risk appetite. Following a generally positive close in European stock markets, the U.S. stock markets closed the day partially lower. Futures indices and Asian markets were mixed this morning. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session with a modest 0.15% increase. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to open the day with a slightly positive trend and then attempt to return to the upside if profit-taking is met. SUPPORT: 9,850 - 9,750 RESISTANCE: 10,150 - 10,250.
